#10 Major & Minor Scale

Welcome to the tenth section of the course! In this lesson, we will learn the basics of major and minor scales.

The major scale is perceived as joyful and optimistic. To form a major scale, we always go up by 2 whole steps from the starting note, then 1 half step, followed by 3 whole steps, and end with another half step. This takes us back to the starting point and creates the major scale. This scale has a bright and happy sound.

On the other hand, the minor scale is often considered deeper and more emotional. To form a minor scale, we go up by 1 whole step, then 1 half step, followed by 2 whole steps, another half step and then 2 whole steps. Again, this takes us back to the starting point, and we have the minor scale. This scale has a reflective and deeper sound.

The difference between the major and minor scales lies in the sequence of tones. The major scale sounds cheerful and bright, while the minor scale has a deeper and more emotional character.

In the next lesson, we will delve into the C major scale and explain it in detail. This scale serves as a great foundation to better understand the concepts of major and minor scales.
