#8 Volume Control

Welcome to the eighth section of the course! In this lesson, we will do another exercise to improve our finger technique and gain control over dynamics.

We will place our fingers as we did in the previous exercise, with the notes C, D, E, F, and G. However, this time, we aim to produce five different levels of volume for each note, ranging from soft to loud. Start with a gentle touch to produce a soft sound for each note, and then gradually increase the pressure to make the note louder. The goal is to achieve five different volume levels for each note.

This exercise is crucial to master dynamics in our piano playing. The ability to control volume precisely adds expression and emotion to our performance.

In the upcoming lessons, we will learn more techniques for dynamic control and incorporate them into our playing style.

It was a short and simple exercise, yet really important, so don’t skip this exercise. Also, don’t forget to practice with the left hand as well! Generally, pretty much every exercise we do, we want to practice with both hands.

That’s it for this lesson, I hope you enjoyed it!
